Description
The World Gold Council asked me to redesign their Gold Principles website, bringing it in line with modern design standards and accessibility. At the time, they were proud to have 14 signatories committed to ethical gold mining in collaboration with the UN. The aim was to expand this further, bringing more signatories on board (miners, jewellers, etc.).
The design needed to feel modern yet established. I wanted to convey that this is a formal document, so I chose a typeface that feels digital but is rooted in traditional print. In terms of palette and flow, the content was text-heavy and often quite dry, so spacing was essential. I wanted users to feel comfortable reading long-form content, which is why I designed both light and dark modes.
Gold, being precious, had to be treated preciously. It was used extremely sparingly, reserved only for direct calls to action related to viewing the declaration.
